Wards

Ramsbottom

Ramsbottom is situated at the far north of the Borough and is represented by three Conservative Councillors:

Tottington is situated in the north of the borough between Bury and Ramsbottom and is represented by three Conservative Councillors:

North Manor
North Manor Ward contains Holcombe Brook, Hawkshaw, Walmersley and Nangreaves and is represented by three Conservative Councillors:
 
Cllr Jim Taylor- First elected to the Council in 2000 and now represent the new "North Manor" Ward, I am passionate on green belt protection and the environment, I am a people's Councillor and enjoy my work in the ward. Committee member of Ramsbottom, Tottington and North Manor Area Board, Committee member of the Licensing and Safety Panel, Committee member of the Licensing Hearing Panel, Committee member of the Supporting People Joint Scrutiny Panel. Having been the Care Manager of a private residential home. I use my expertees on being the Conservative Champion on elderly people.
 
Cllr Dorothy Gunther- Committee member of the Economy, Environment and Transport Scrutiny Commission and the Planning Control Committee. Director of Six Town Housing and the Chair of the Resource and Performance Sub Committee. Six Town Housing is an ARMS LENGTH MANAGEMENT ORGANISATION which takes care of the landlord function of Bury's Council Houses, I am also a Governor of Holcombe Brook Primary School and the Derby High School, Trustee of Ramsbottom Aid in Sickness Fund and I was a founder member of Ramsbottom Music Festival and a former Chair of Ramsbottom and District Sports Council.
 
Cllr David Higgin- Member of the Economy. Environment and Transport Scrutiny Commission, Member of the Standards Committee, Represents the Council on Bury’s Arts, Member of the Rotary Club. 
 
Moorside
Moorside Ward is to the north and east of Bury Town Centre and is represented by Conservative Councillor Peter Ashworth.

The ward of Elton is located to the north of Bury Town centre and is represented by three Conservative Councillors:

Church Ward is located to the west of Bury Town centre and is represented by three Conservative Councillors; Bob Bibby, Roy Walker and Jack Walton.

Redvales
Redvales Ward covers the area south of the town Centre of Bury to the Blackford Bridge, and includes Manchester road and the various roads and estates running off it.
 
Redvales Ward is represented by Conservative Councillor Ijaz Ahmed, who was elected in May 2008 with a huge increase in Conservative support. Unsworth
Unsworth Ward includes the Elms, Sunnybank and Hollins. Represented by 2 Conservative Councillors Sam Cohen and Beverly Sullivan.
 
Due to boundary changes, Unsworth has been moved from the parliamentary constituency of Bury North, to Bury South.

Besses Ward
Besses ward is located in Whitefield. It is just to the north of the M60. It encompasses areas such as Thatch Leach Lane, Moss Lane and Oak Lane.

Holyrood
Holyrood is one of the three Prestwich Wards covering part of Prestwich and also Simister.
 
Our Conservative Spokesman for Holyrood Ward is Carl Curran. Carl was brought up in Holyrood, and knows the local area very well. At the recent local elections the Conservative share of the vote increased sharply and the Conservatives came a very strong second, knocking Labour into a distant third place.

St Marys Ward
St Marys ward is one of the three Prestwich Wards and is covers the areas of Pretwich to the left of Bury New Road. Including Prestwich Village, Prestwich Hills, Butterstile Lane area and also Rainsough.
